GEOPATHIC STRESS
Geopathic means suffering from the earth, coming from the Greek words ‘geo’ (earth) and ‘pathos’ (suffering).
It is a term used to describe a condition where the natural magnetic flow of underground water energy is restricted, causing disruptive vibrations to extend above ground.
Disruptive energies
We are continuously exposed to electromagnetic radiation from both natural and artificial sources. In certain places, the subtle balance in the earth's natural magnetic field can be distorted, giving rise to geopathic stress. Exposure to these disruptive energies can affect the energy fields in our living or working spaces, potentially impacting our health and well being. Over time, this can contribute to more significant health challenges.
CAUSES
Various stressors, including underground streams, geological fault lines, certain mineral deposits, and even building foundations, can lead to disturbances in the earth's magnetic field.
IMPACT
All living beings, including humans, animals, and plants can be affected by geopathic stress areas. It can even have a negative effect on buildings and structures.
Effects of Geopathic Stress
Geopathic stressors can have a big impact on the well-being of humans, animals, plants, and even buildings. Recognising specific symptoms, especially if recurring patterns persist, is crucial. In the list below are some examples, but there are many more signs not included here.

Weakened immune system.
Emotional instability.
Learning disabilities.
Chronic / unexplained illnesses (e.g. cancer).
Headache and back pain.

Fatigue, run down, exhaustion, restlessness, poor concentration.
Weight loss, Appetite loss.
Allergies to foods.
Headaches/ Migraines/ Joint pain.
Resistance to medical and/or other treatments.
Electrical sensitivities.
Learning disabilities.
You feel better when you are away from your house or sleep in a different room.
-
Particular area bees and cats like to gather (they like geopathic stress areas!).
Had problems with wasps, bees, ants, termites, slugs, snails, owls, snakes and/or spiders in the past.
Areas that animals such as: dogs, cows, horses, pigs, sheep and/or fish avoid.
-
Lawns with bare patches or moss.
Areas of your garden that always die or don’t thrive, no matter what you plant.
Stunted growth.
Gaps in hedges.
Trees and plants that grow with twisted trees, cankers (cancer like knots in trunks), bare lawn patches, stunted growth, gaps in hedges and/or infertile fruit trees.
Thriving plants such as: cactus, oaks, ivy, fungi, willow, ferns and/or nightshades etc.
Infertile fruit trees.
-
Inexplicable buzzing noise.
Cold or damp areas.
Cracks in bricks, plaster boards and/or concrete foundations.
Constant electrical and/or mechanical breakdowns (lightbulbs blow continually).
Accident black spots in and outside the building.
Constant graffiti and/or vandalism.
Theft/ burglary.
Inexplicable odd ‘buzzing on phone’.
Clutter accumulation in certain areas of your house or yard.
Areas of a room that are inexplicably cold or damp or have strange smells.
Building seems to deteriorate quickly (peeling or chipped paint shortly after being painted- not from workmanship).
Things constantly being broken or dropped.
Above average prevalence of spiders.
Food goes off quicker than ‘normal.
WHY IS GEOBIOLOGY IMPORTANT FOR MY RENO OR BUILD?
Incorporating geobiology into the planning process for a renovation or new build becomes even more impactful when a dowser has already cleared geopathic stress from the site. This proactive approach ensures the land is energetically balanced before construction begins, setting a strong foundation for a healthy, harmonious living environment. With geopathic stress resolved, the design and construction team can confidently focus on optimising the home’s layout, knowing that the site’s natural energies now support the well-being of its future occupants.
For renovations, a cleared site allows for thoughtful modifications that align with the newly harmonised energy of the property. Designers can strategically position key living spaces—such as bedrooms, home offices, and relaxation areas—within the most energetically supportive zones of the home.
For new builds, this preparatory work empowers architects to create a design that fully complements the natural balance of the site. By addressing geopathic stress before construction, you eliminate potential obstacles to health and well-being, ensuring that your renovation or new build starts on a foundation of holistic wellness, comfort, and vitality.
-
During this first phase we identify and detect the presence of geopathic stress zones in and around your home or workspace. We use dowsing to locate areas of underground water believed to be affected.
The main geopathic stressors that are identified and located by dowsing in our Geopathic Stress Audits are:
Negative Geomagnetic Lines.
Geological Fault Lines.
Negative Ley Lines.
Negative Nexus Points (Schumann resonance).
Negative Psychic Impressions (man-made).
Mobile Personal Lines (man-made).
Hartmann and Curry grids.
-
Once identified, we will illustrate the location(s) of suspected geopathic stress zones. This mapping process aims to show you the area(s) where the earth's energies are thought to be challenging.
Through the process of dowsing we can identify and locate each negative Geopathic Stress in your home and/or workplace and remedy them with a specific, hand-made cure, determined on the day to fix the particular stress.
The remedies are made out of (hard)wood, wire and copper. Copper is a conductive material and is cut to length to resonate with the particular frequency of the geopathic stress being remedied. Each geopathic stress has an individual type of remedy for it.
-
At this point, we will explore the impact of geopathic stress on the environment and evaluate potential health effects on those spending time in or near these negative zones.
-
To reduce or eliminate the harmful effects of geopathic stress, we will neutralise or divert the distorted flow of energy by placing earth energy rods in the affected areas.
AUDIT PROCESS
Research
Baron Gustav von Pohl. Germany (1920s) . Was able to determine that 95% of all cancer cases had connections to geostress.
Ernst Hartmann. Germany (1940s-60s). Hartmann was first to describe geomagnetic grids and their influence on geostress.
Manfield Curry. Germany (1950s-70s). Curry continued Hartmann’s work describing other grids and their influences.
Otto Bergmann. Austria (1987-89). In a two year trial which included over 462,000 measurements and 6,942 tests, Bergmann found Geopathic Stress effects on blood sedimentation, blood pressure, blood circulation, heartbeat, breathing, skin resistance, and electrical conductivity of muscle points.
Kathe Bacheler. Austria (1989). In a survey that included 3,000 apartments and over 11,000 people, Bacheler discovered 100% correlations between geostress and 500 cases of cancer she studied. She also found 95% correlation with problem children (ADD/ADHD and other behavioral issues).
Pallegard. Denmark (1990). In a much publicised study, Pallegard correlated geostress in 14 out of 18 crib deaths.
Roger Rose. England (1990s). In a sample of 50 patients with Myalgic Encephalomyelitis ("chronic fatigue syndrome"), Rose found 100% correlation to geostress.
Christopher McNaney. England (1990s). In a sample of 175 nomadic gypsy families, he found only 1% cancer and 0% heart disease.
Robert Endrost & Klotz Biberach. Germany (1990s). In a study performed by architectural students surveying homes, Endrost & Biberach found 383 cases of geostress in a sample of 400 cancer patients.
Dr Ernst Hartmann, MD, wrote that "Cancer is a disease of location triggered off by geopathic stress. We all produce cancerous cells on a regular basis, but they are continuously destroyed by our body's immune system. Geopathic stress does not cause cancer, but weakens our immune system.
